week 248
When I know I’ll be sitting in a car, or just waiting in general, I bring a bit of yarn and either needles or a hook. Oftentimes, it’s just to keep my hands busy and a bunch of the things started end up getting frogged.
I tend to gravitate towards stripes and want to make a simple top using various yarns in my stash. It will be various purple yarns, one reddish purple one and a blue yarn on top. Part of me wants to put rows of grey between overlap and solo bits. Right now, it will be broken up into four parts then in the middle, which attaches pieces, will be crochet. I haven’t made anything than a basic layout, but it’s going to be whenever.
Progress on the weaving project.
I prefer it upside down, as it looks better this direction. I think it should end on green and white as it begins that way, instead of just blue, as planned.
These squares have been sitting there for a while, because I’ve been constantly putting it off. When I cut them out, I had them set up a certain way but didn’t even bother paying attention to that arrangement, while sewing them together. They’re all random and it’s slightly wonky. I need to sew the rectangles onto the sides then smooth it all out with an iron and sewing over the cover.
This green yarn was originally used so I can practice making cables, but after messing up my count then trying to redo it and having yarn slide off the cable needle, I gave up and will attempt cables on a different yarn.
In case you’re curious, this and the purple yarn are Tahki Yarn’s Stacey Charles Lena. WEBS took over the line and the yarn is almost gone.
