week 251

For the longest time I had this project in a pile of WIPs. I finally just wanted to finish it.

It’s almost finished as I want to add random pom-poms all over.

This is the frogged yarn from the cardigan I knit and somehow made one side way too wide to be comfortable to wear. The yarn is doubled up, and when I was at the last yarn cake, I crocheted with both ends.

For some reason I didn’t feel like continuing the actual pattern planned out so made it on one side. especially since I wasn’t exactly paying attention to the holes made.

The more I look at it, I want to sew armholes and turn it back into a cardigan.

It’s a bit blurry, but the quilt top is coming along.

After sewing the side pieces, noticed the middle part was too long, so needed to make it wider, rather than longer. Removed several rows from the bottom, and will attach them to the sides.

When everything is finally sewn together, going to sew over the rows, on the outside, firmly attaching the batting under the top, before making something for the back and attaching that.

And I roughly measured length and it’s 4 feet, or about 122cm. I figure it’s just as wide as it is long. If not, I can sew two pieces of batting together.

Started the third section of the pullover.

My straights are no15, Japanese needles, bought a long time ago. For the inside pieces, when I will pick up the stitches and attach them to each other, I wanted to use a circular needle.

Unfortunately I guesstimated and bought 6.0mm needles. I need 6.5mm. It’s a tiny little difference, but half mm does matter because the stitches could be a wee smaller.

Yarnbox is selling off skeins of yarn before they completely close up shop. I bought two and they are both so much prettier in person than in this photo. They’ll probably be forever in the stash but that’s normal.
