week 252

(Hello from the same blog with a slightly changed url. I officially own the blog now and there could be slight changes coming to it, but it’ll mostly stay the same.)

Another slow week. It’s hard to do anything when it’s over 26C and humidity is past 65%. I go into nap and wake up covered in sweat and disgusted with myself for sleeping all the time mode.

I’m slowly knitting the third piece of the pullover. It seems each piece is taking longer than the panel before it. First took four days, the second took a bit longer and this has taken even longer.

I’ve only reached the eighth stripe out of twenty-one. Still think there should have been less grey stripes but eh. Too late now and it still looks nice.

For the quilt, I was shuffling things around and realised the leftover squares should make up the middle of the back, rather than add them to the sides. After the middle is done, add squares of the fabric originally meant to make up the back as planned.

This is the quilt top in all its glory without the edges altered.

I measured the top and it’s roughly 54″ by 47″, or 137cm by 119cm. Not sure how much I will lose when I attach all three layers together. It’s puckery, because there is material of all sorts, and because my sewing sometimes went in non-straight lines, but once the top and batting are together, I’m hand stitching over the top, so it’s a bit smoother.

It’s kind of nice to finally getting around to projects that were just sitting in my to do pile. And, I will be very happy once this thing is done as it’s taking an unnecessarily long time to go from cut pieces to a usable quilt. I don’t know how many pieces were cut before Dylan was even conceived. It’s been that long.
