weeks 268-269

I spent the majority of Thanksgiving week trying to finish this hat and it still turned out not as great as I hoped. Initially the brim was made too narrow inside but then made the brim too wide inside, hence the huge ruffle. It’s lined with the fabric which was what the original hat was made with. The inside is slightly embarrassing because it didn’t occur to me, to sew on the flowers to the inside then sew down the seam binding, so it looks cleaner. The flowers are sewn onto the seam binding.

I detached the sleeves after removing the side seams so everything can be seamed together, then knit the middle panels and put a nice edging on the whole thing. This is taking much longer than it should have, as I’ve been struggling with finding the patience with everything.

Finally want to make a cardigan with this yarn and started knitting. This one will be random so there isn’t much in the way of planning.

Decided to combine these two knitting projects into a long scarf or shawl. Originally two separate things but setting them together, brought an idea into my head. Once the softly dyed yarn is at the last row, will put it on a holder. Once the grey and multi-coloured bit is long enough, knit a few more rows.

Finally sewn the second half of the self-portrait shirt. It doesn’t line but wasn’t planned that the two halves are to be exact.

After buying a bit of ribbon and making the flowers, I found three more spools and plan to make more ribbons. Have a plan for another hat and actually bought fabric samples from fabric dot com.
Also, I’m that idiot that didn’t realise the cardboard that holds the ribbon is made in a longer roll and cut to size. I want to use the empty rolls for a holder and playing with two empty rolls and the lines matched up.

Had bought posterboard on a whim to make a box and now made several. The two bigger boxes are slightly wonky but the slightly smaller ones are perfect, although closing them without tape doesn’t work. There was one more open top box but I filled it with threads and wires.
Have no idea what to put in them but they will be filled. Should have bought the things to put in them first then worked around that, instead of what can I put in them now.
